Magnet Forensics introduces Magnet Autokey, a new solution that enables quick access to encrypted vehicle data.

The new solution enables rapid, non-invasive extraction and analysis of data from vehicle infotainment systems to accelerate the path to justice.

Magnet Forensics announced the launch ofMagnet Autokey, the industry's first solution capable of extracting, analyzing and sharing digital evidence from vehicle infotainment systems without the need for invasive disassembly.

Vehicle data has become an increasingly valuable source of digital evidence for investigators. Modern vehicles have evolved into data-rich systems that can play a key role in reconstructing events before, during and after an incident. However, traditional extraction methods require physically removing and disassembling infotainment units, rely on specialized hardware and advanced knowledge, and face encryption barriers that make it difficult to access vehicle evidence and delay investigations.

Magnet Autokey introduces a new and innovative approach to vehicle forensics. By connecting directly to the vehicle via USB, the solution provides fast, non-invasive access to encrypted vehicle data, eliminating the need for physical disassembly or manual chip-off techniques.

Extracted data is uploaded to the Magnet One platform and Magnet Axiom for analysis, and then transmitted to Magnet Review, allowing investigative teams to seamlessly review and collaborate on evidence through a fully automated, industry-first workflow.

“As digital investigations evolve, access to the right data at the right time increasingly determines how quickly the truth comes to light,” said Braden Thomas, Chief Research and Development Officer at Magnet Forensics. "With Magnet Autokey, we are expanding access to critical vehicular evidence that often goes unnoticed. By incorporating this evidence within the Magnet One platform, we help investigators move faster, collaborate sooner, and accelerate the path to justice."

Magnet Autokey is the latest addition to the Magnet One platform, which unifiedly integrates mobile, cloud, computational and vehicular evidence, allowing teams to instantly access case data and collaborate in real time.

Magnet Autokey allows researchers to:

  • Access evidence stored in encrypted vehicle systems.
  • Obtain and share key vehicle information in minutes using non-invasive USB access.
  • Make case data immediately available to everyone involved, regardless of location.
